Timeline - 2005

2007  -   2006  -   2005  -   2004

A lot my web development in 2005 involved working for the Rune Tips (Tip.It) website as well introducing new projects and maintaining / improving my old ones.

November 2005 - Fighting / Ranged Calcs:
The Fighting / Ranged Calculators were made after a lot of user requests. The purpose of these calculators is to calculate the number of monsters you need to defeat in order to get to a certain level either with melee or ranged.

November 2005 - Redesign of RS2 Calculators
With the jobs I had been doing for Tip.It my old calculators were getting a bit outdated and the layout needed an update. Therefore in November 2005 I spent a few days redesigning all the calcs, converting them to PHP and creating a new look for the website.

November 2005 - Memberlists / Training Comps
I was always quite interested in one day making up something to help the many clans in RuneScape. In November 2005 I decided to make up a few memberlist and training competition scripts in order to help a few clans that needed them. Originally the designs were quite simple but overtime I improved the scripts with adding new features and trying to improve the design.
Eventually due to such a popular demand by clans requiring a memberlist I decided it would be best to create The RuneHead Hiscores Catalogue so clans could sign up themselves to the service instead of me having to make the memberlists manually.

November 2005 - Max Hit Calculator:
Probably the biggest and most popular single purpose calculator I created. The Max Hit Calculator was written in PHP and JavaScript and had the purpose of allowing the user to enter their equipment and stats in order to determine what the Max Hit under those circumstances were. This calculator was a quite a big job and the help from the Tip.It and a lot of the users is greatly appreciated.

October 2005 - Skill Calc F2P/P2P Option
Another good feature that was suggested was to add F2P / P2P options to the Skill Calculators on Tip.It. The idea was to make it easier for both the users that had a Membership for RuneScape (P2P) and for those who played the Free Edition by either displaying all the items or alternatively just the Free 2 Play (F2P) items.

August 2005 - Skill Planners
One of the first new ideas I added to Tip.It was the Skill Planners. Originally the idea of a few users, these Skill Planners are basically the opposite of what the Skill Calculators do. Instead of finding out how many items you need to a level, you enter how many items you have and it calculates your final XP and level.

March 2005 - Offered Rune Tips (Tip.It) Crew Position:
On March 8th 2005 I was offered a position to be part of the Website Crew for Tip.It. I was happy to accept this position and went on to manage the calculators as well as implement new calculators with the help of the Crew and user submissions.
I continued working for the crew until May 2006 when I retired to focus on finishing my University studies.
